My son asked me, where is Santa? I told him the man is hibernating, but he’s got his present ready.
Have a Merry X’mas everyone!

My boy was exceptionally whiney last evening so I did this just to keep him happy.
It’s very easy. Took me about 20 mins. But the end result isn’t too ideal. The thread used for the fountain is too thick and the darker threads are also showing through the the thin material. Still, he loves it.
I might attempt some X’mas embroidery next, if I can spare the time.
Just to prove to my son that mummy is not belong to the computer only.
But what I don’t say is that this is actually inspired by my blogging too.
I have received a few enquiries about where I get my graphics for my headers. Well, they are self-created using Adobe Illustrator CS. However, I must clarify that most of the time, I get my inspirations by checking out all sorts of design and illo websites.
For example, my recent find is ArtbyChristel.com which has a lot of contemporary acrylic paintings with a lot of 50’s and 60’s motifs. These are her handpainted work.
Gorgeous work isn’t it? These are the sort of art I like to ogle at and the sort which I will like to use for my blog design. Of course my digital art is not up to standard yet, so I need to improve a lot more. I won’t copy, but I’ll use some of the ideas gathered and marry it with my own creations.
I’ll however need to wait till my next big break to have time for this. For now, I will just ogle and bookmark the site for future reference.

This is adapted from one of my header art which was created to capture my family time. Enjoy!
