casserole of my life

A bad patch

concocted on Fri, 9 Jan 2009 @ 1:02 pm for Introspections

It’s not even half a month after the New Year and I’ve had two very bad news of tragic proportions. One of a colleague who passed away and another of a family member who has to vanish for the time being. Coupled with our own crisis, I’m kind of feeling quite depressed.

Initially I thought we’re probably the only family dreading this coming Lunar New Year and wanting to hibernate. But it looks like others I know, even related by blood, are not too far off. And the worst part is that we all have to pretend like we don’t know what has happened and continue to look merry. How tragic is that?

Seriously, I really don’t know what has gone wrong. Why is it that everything is suddenly coming to a head? It’s like a bad patch of acne that suddenly exploded on my cheek and just refuse to go away.

  2. It’s hard of course, but try not to let the bad things that are happening around you pull you down into an even more depressed mood, else the ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’ might come into swing and cause an even more prolonged cycle.

Hopefully you will be able bring yourselves to see the bright side of things from these unhappy incidents, such as treating them as life lessons to make us treasure people around us more etc.

    God Bless You. ^^

WaveSurfer: I do…trying to see these challenges as lessons to make me wiser. Haha…but sometimes they’re a bit hard to stomach especially when one comes after another. But I always try…I’m quite hard core!

  4. 无常。Life’s full of impermanence. The bad will come and go. Cheer up.

Tin: What goes down must come up? Doesn’t always apply though…

For the sake of CNY, everybody put on a mask. Happy or not, you smile… Oh well, that probably will ward of the bad qi.

    ZM: Ward off bad qi…hmmm…interesting.
