A flirt I knew once a upon a time shared with me how his then girlfriend viewed of his flings. Apparently, he had asked her what she would do if she were to see him behaving intimately with another woman. And her reply was that, she would walk away because she was just his girlfriend and not his wife. So he probed her to find out what she would do if she became his wife. “I will walk up to the two of you and tell the woman you’re holding that I’m your wife!”
So does being in a marriage allow you to state your rights and make demands on your spouse? Definitely yes! But I’ll add that your demands should be reasonable. If something is potentially jeopardising the marriage, then you should be able to speak your mind and make your demands heard. I don’t believe in playing nice or being the stepford wife. And to a large extent, I don’t believe in letting the man have his own way. In fact, I have no qualms for example, in telling my husband to stop hanging out with people I dislike. And if I don’t approve of the activities he’s indulging in, you can be sure I’ll give him a hard time about it. Why pretend to accept when it’s something that irks me totally?
I’m so sick and tired of people who say that a woman should be understanding and supportive of the husband. It doesn’t always work. Sometimes, you just have to stop being nice!

Actually a girlfriend is a unofficial wife. For me, I’ll treat my girlfriend like my wife. So you can’t just walk away like that when your boyfriend is having a better relationship with other women.
Horizon: I agree with you…TOTALLY! I would never just let it go.

H does have a few friends that I don’t approve of, but he doesn’t hang out with them so often, so I haven’t had to complain about them in recent years. Besides, everyone has mellowed down after starting their families. In fact, I’m getting along pretty well with the wives of his friends
DM: That’s good. Unfortunately, some men don’t mellow down and they get worst with age especially when their pockets are a bit more loaded. I’m talking about those. I think with men who love their family, the wives are pretty safe.
