The boy and his dad have been going to EC House for their haircuts recently. Surprisingly, the standard is quite good as I couldn’t see much of a difference between my husband’s usual $45 haircut and a $10 haircut. However, I still snub at the idea of having my haircut there or for that matter, any salons.
First, I prefer to have my hair cut by my hairstylist who will painstakingly take an hour just to shape and style my hair because he’s a perfectionist. Second, I hate going to any other salons because those people are absolutely tactless. They’re always telling me that I have very little hair and then making stupid suggestions of what I should do. Like I need them to tell me! It’s most annoying that all they want is to push me products when they don’t even know what’s the causes of hair loss. I even remember I had this shampoo girl pointing to my scalp and then making loud comments at a salon in town and I had to control myself from hurling the hairdryer at her!
What these people don’t seem to understand is that there are many causes and as I’ve mentioned in my beauty blog, a good hair loss treatment is in its ability to act effectively in both external application and in internal consumption of hair loss vitamins like the Vitamin B family, Vitamins A, C, E and H as well as Zinc.
So when my husband suggested that I join them to have my hair cut at EC House, I told him I’ll rather have my hair grow all out of shape than to risk having my hair embarrassed.

i totally hear u abt the pushy ppl SS! i used to get that all the time, tell me things like my hair is too fine and I NEED to perm it. or recommend me expensive treatments or whatever digital or ceramic perm. now i’ll never wanna step into any jean yip/jantzen/protrim etc etc. these ppl suck. same goes for those beauty/slimming parlors. boo!
Evan: Oh…I haven’t talked about beauty salons! Totally one of a kind. You’ll get bullied into signing up full packages if you’re not firm. That’s why now I’m quite afraid to go and do facials.

I don’t go to EC house as well…as I think they’ll only ‘go crazy’ handling my natural curls…hee hee
Eileen: Haha…better not risk it. You never know what they’ll do when they go crazy!

SS, did u hear that one of the tactics these beauty salons use is to try pushing packages to u when u r half naked? apparently this was what i read in the papers. one customer actually got bullied into signing the packages coz she felt really “vulnerable” and “helpless” hence she relented. but heck, if it were me, i’d rather run out naked than to sign them! LOL.
Evan: Yeah! I remember reading that. In such a situation, must pretend to sleep and ignore! Haha…But how to sign package when you’re half naked? She should have “act blur”.
