casserole of my life

Why are my fingers thinner?

concocted on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 @ 2:28 pm for Femilicious

pineapplesSo I wrote that I’ve lost a bit of weight and even my fingers are now thinner.  It’s not really drastic but I guess it must be noticeable for people to comment about it.

I don’t think I’ve done anything significant to contribute to the weight loss but after some internal reflections, I decided that it could be the pineapples that I’ve been eating daily!  It’s not scientifically proven that pineapples have slimming effects yet, but I did find some interesting information pertaining to the vitamins and enzymes which may have positive impacts on our weight.  If you are interested, you may want to read about how eating pineapples has contributed to my weight loss at Viva Woman.

Okay, I need a favor from the mummies.  I’m trying to put together something about stretch marks at my  beauty blog and would like to know what product has worked (or not worked) while you were trying to combat your pregnancy stretch marks.  Any other information pertaining to that are welcome too.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Yea… I heard of pineapple weight lost but I never really eat that much pineapple to know a difference.

Ms._2be: Yeah, need to eat it consistently for a few months to see noticeable effects.

  2. Maybe I should try lemon? I can’t handle the ’scratch-the-tongue’ after effect of pineapple.

    I’d used
    iGreen anti-stretch mark cream
    L’occitane - Mom & Baby Balm

None worked. But then, how do I know if I don’t use them, it would have been worse?

ZM: Lemon works too I heard.

And thanks for your inputs for the stretch cream.

  3. Looks like I must eat more pineapples liao..hee hee…

I used Mustela for both my pregnancies, started applying when I was 3 month pregnant, even before the bump shows, nightly without failed! And I have no stretch marks at all! :)

Eileen: Yeah, no harm trying. It’s a healthy fruit anyway.

I used Mustela too. But no effect leh. I guess I was lazy too. Your skin is probably better than mine too.

  4. I used Skin Doctors Stretch Away cream for 4 mths. Not that effective on deep marks but the smaller marks were lightened.

Jes: Hmm…I guess it really depends on individual. At least it did help to an extent.

  5. Wah, I must eat more pineapples too! Good thing I like pineapples :)

I used stretch mark cream even BEFORE my tummy began showing. How’s that for being kiasu. But I didn’t use anything fancy, just the one that Mothercare was selling (housebrand). In the end, I didn’t get any stretchmarks at all :)

You know, they say that this kind of things is inherited. My mom has so much stretchmarks that I thought I will sure get them. So being kiasu must have helped to prevent them.

DM: I think you’re right about the kiasu part. I was too lazy and that’s how I ended up with stretch marks now! :(
