The boy was so disappointed this morning because the two new playmates he thought he has found did not turn up at the playground. The two brothers had promised to meet him at 10am but due to some reasons, they did not show up. The boy ran around a little, cycled by himself and then sat down at the playground looking all dejected.
“Are they coming or not?”
“Is that them?”
“Why they never come?”
“Will they come next week?”
“Next week I not free!”
The initial excitement turned into disappointment and eventually into anger. He buried his little head in my chest and sobbed a little when we got home. I cried with him too. Even though it was not like he was rejected because the two boys did seek him out to play first, but for the first time since the evaluation, I was filled with sadness over the possibility that he may have to grow up a lonely boy.
He took off his clothes and I gave him a good rub in the tub. Something I don’t do very frequently. And very quickly, he was back to his old happy self again, prancing and jumping around.
As his mother, of course I hope he will always be happy and he won’t have to deal with too many disappointments in future. But when he does, I hope he’ll know that home is the sanctuary where he can always come back to for unconditional love and support.

pretty heart wrenching just reading about it but you made it up by giving him a good rub in the tub….:)

He’ll know that he can always turn to mummy for a good rub when he’s feeling down…

I know what you mean.
My girl is so lonely for company of other kids that she asked me if I could be her Jie Jie instead of her Ma Mah. Hmmmm… Very stressed out to have another baby

I think we are all experiencing the same thing here. Chloe is the same too. She said.. “anyone don’t wanna play with me” ..all the time… to us.. when the kids leave with their parents.. after getting a movie or game.
