casserole of my life

What has he been up to of late?

concocted on Thu, 3 Jul 2008 @ 11:51 am for Parenting

These are some “healthy activities” that my five-year-old has been indulging himself in:

  • Taking tons of videos of himself and then forcing me to watch them.
  • Making me read books on volcanoes and earthquakes to him a few times a day.
  • Simulating the Japan earthquake with his toy buildings and cars.
  • Drawing disturbing images of people being buried under buildings.
  • Memorizing lines from videos on earthquakes and volcanoes.
  • Pretending to be a commentator reciting those lines.
  • Constantly arguing with the maid and then quoting me to justify his rights.
  • Getting addicted to the 9pm Chinese drama on TCS8.

I don’t know when he’ll grow out of this volcano and earthquake phase.  I keep telling him that it’s very boring for me but of course, he doesn’t understand what that means since he’s obviously fascinated by the topic.

The only good thing that has come out of all these for me is that I’ve learnt more about earth than I ever had did in the past years of my life.  And by gosh, I really should be ashamed cos I knew very little about our home planet!
