I have two big bags of Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel toys in my storeroom, thanks to the McDonald’s promotion in 2000. I remember going round various Big Ms around the island just to get my hands on the Japanese feline sets every week.
Actually I don’t know why I was so crazy about them at that time. But I recalled thinking then that I can pass these toys to my daughter in the future.
So fast forward eight years down the road and I have a five-year-old son. Never have I imagined I would be introducing my collection of Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel toys to my boy now. But thanks to Kids Central, he is now smittened with the kitty with no mouth. And he’s even mimicking the way the kitty speaks, complete with the feline squeal!
*slaps forehead*
You did that too???! Went round whole of spore mc restaurant jus hoping to get the complete range of the hello kitty wedding series?
Haha..this no mouth kitty really create a big commotion then…was even the headline in newpapers & news!
I also cant understand how I kana it’s spell.. we were jus so desperate and to the extend of even taking leave to stay overnight to queue outside the restaurant..know what? my parents, uncle & aunti also dont mind taking shifts to queue up for us… Cant imagine it’s influential!
However, I dont deny it was fun then… good memories too thought the kitty were now dono at which corner and carton of the store room :p
wtpg: Wa, you all really fierce leh…can take leave to stay overnight??? Haha…seriously, it was quite fun. And till now, I’m still sore that I couldn’t get the Japanese Kitty. Only got the Dear Daniel one.

The only hello kitty doll I got is a dog toy.
Though those two looks cute, I like the way their dress.

Hello Kitty has been around since I was a teen-ager, or maybe even earlier. I used to buy stationeries with Hello Kitty in them. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of Dear Daniel, though.
