casserole of my life

Treasure in the junk

concocted on Sun, 3 Feb 2008 @ 7:58 pm for Femilicious

It’s funny that there are 365 days in a year and yet, we have to wait till just before the Chinese New Year to clear up the barangs from the store room.  I’m guessing we just wanted to make some effort in the name of spring cleaning.

hand beaded shoes

Actually it’s not so much us, but him, since most of those barangs were his stuff.  But I was pleasantly surprised to find this old pair of beaded shoes that my mum handmade for me amongst the junk. It must be at least 20 years old! Yet, the quality of the shoe remains good, and the rubber soles are still intact and have not disintegrated like the way some of the branded shoes I’ve had did for me.  In fact, I’m thinking they look really cute to be worn now!

  2. They are cute, quite a treasure indeed. Sometimes when I clean out our junk, I would also dig up something that I thought was junk and begin using them again.
