casserole of my life

Are your children’s personal care products safe?

earth's best mineral based spf30 organic sunblockWhenever I can, I’ll buy organic or natural personal care products for the boy especially those that he uses on a daily basis like body wash or toothpaste.  With so many concerns over hazardous ingredients found in many commercial products, I can’t help but try to be a bit more vigilant.  (AKA KIASU.)

Parents who are interested to know if your children’s personal care products are safe enough might want to look up the Safety Guide To Children’s Personal Care Products from EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database.  The guide has comprehensive information on the types of ingredients to avoid as well as the best picks from common brands such as baby powder, baby wipes, toothpaste, shampoo and sunscreen.

And while we’re on the topic of sunscreen, you may also like to read my reviews on the two safest and most effective sunblocks; one being Badger SPF30 and the other being Keys Solar Rx SPF30+ over at Viva Woman.
