casserole of my life

Celebrating children’s day eating sushi

concocted on Tue, 2 Oct 2007 @ 3:07 pm for Eats

Why the man said we have to celebrate children’s day yesterday I really don’t know.  My guess is he just needed an excuse to dine out.

After eliminating a list of possibilities, we decided on Sushi-Tei at Serangoon Gardens.  I was so surprised that the menu has changed so much and they now even offer paper hot pots.   Just goes to show how long we haven’t eaten here.

The boy who already had his dinner at home was amusing himself with the sushi conveyor belt while crunching on green beans.  I have to say that it’s quite a delight to bring him out to eateries these days because he’ll always find something interesting to keep himself occupied.

So yes, we were able to eat our children’s day meal in peace.  Very thankfully so.

  1. It’s really wonderful to see that Gavin is so adventurous when it comes to food. I have seen some kids dining outside…..don’t want this, don’t want that….headache ah, I mean the parents…..kekeke

Jan: Quite adventurous about vegetables only, not the others…

  5. Paper hot pot? How does it work?
Did he try to take the plates down from the conveyor belt? Zara likes to do this.. kept saying she wanted to do eat this and that.. just for the sake of taking them down from the belt.

ZM: They use this special paper to contain the soup and it won’t get burnt as well. No, Gavin never tried to remove the items from the conveyor belt. He just imagined those were part of the train.

  6. Yah, they both enjoy food very much in fact very adventurous on whatever I give them. Sometimes they love the food so much that they keep pestering me and I have to keep refilling their bowls!
Another headache is their table manners. Every meal I hv to keep reminding them not to use their finger and wasted packet of wet-tissue to clean their hand and stained cloth, messy table…

wtpg: Aiyah, kids are like that. We can never be completely relaxed eating together with them. I also have to watch over him and make sure he’s okay and clean. But of course…you have two to watch over.
