casserole of my life

Deserted, cheated and stranded

concocted on Sun, 30 Sep 2007 @ 6:11 pm for Family,Places

wild wild wet

Blistering Barnacles!  Somebody must go blast the weather station for me.  Forecasted yesterday: a cloudy and overcast day.

MY FOOT!

Yes, it was true earlier in the day but it became incrementally sunny by the afternoon!  Although we could have avoided the sun by going in the morning but it wasn’t possible because daddy was busy.  And since I already promised to go, it was hard to back out without facing two dreadful whinezillas at home.

So to cut the long story short, it was quite a sunny afternoon and I found myself stranded at Wild Wild Wet with my two boys.  I hid under the shade, applying and re-applying my sunblock every 10 minutes while the boys had their soaking fun.  I only join them later when the sun relented a little.

The weather voodoo screwed.  The gods left me.  The weather station cheated me.

Good thing though, my spirit wasn’t completely defeated, the boys enjoyed themselves a lot, I managed to still have some fun and the day did end on a high note afterall.

Pet me, feed me!

concocted on Fri, 28 Sep 2007 @ 8:53 am for Rambles

poonpoonHi.  My name is Poon Poon.  I’ve just been adopted yesterday from the Beijing zoo where my mistress spent 30 minutes waiting for me to roll on my back and then another 30 minutes for me to roll over again.  I like to eat and sleep.

My mistress’s son likes to feed me but he doesn’t know how to buy food for me and he ends up trying to eat the ice cream created by the talented mooi duo from New Zealand.  There is even a X’mas tree now, even though it is 3 months away.

I know my mistress snubbed some invites in the past.  Well, that’s because the silly woman didn’t know I existed.  *Hiaz*  But on my cute account, can those whom she has snubbed come and pet me and feed me now?

Then to those from Myspace, my mistress has completely forgotten her password so cannot go friend you there.  You have to go FaceBook to friend her now.  She will buy you flowers and drinks.

Finally, to quote her son who likes to say this of late:
“I cannot wait so long you know.  I cannot wait forever you know.”

Swinging in Singapore

concocted on Thu, 27 Sep 2007 @ 3:36 pm for Commentaries

Unless what I read from the magazine is completely fabricated, we actually have this in Singapore.

Taken from Wikipedia:

Swinging, sometimes referred to as the swinging lifestyle, is “non-monogamous sexual activity, treated much like any other social activity, that can be experienced as a couple.”

To put it crudely, if you’re into swinging, it means you and your partner are having sex with someone else TOGETHER.   You and your partner could mean you and your husband or you and your wife.

And the scenario I read from the magazine was, the husband actually arranged for another man to have sex with him and his wife together.  I know this is rampant in other countries and I heard fairly common in parts of North Asia but in Singapore?  I was even more flabbergasted when I read that this particular couple have children.  WTF?

Apparently the couple advertised their interest on the Net and when I went to search, there is really a whole website, forum and even blog on this.  I won’t post the link here.  You can google for it yourself if you’re interested.  I took a glance at their main message in the front page for about a minute and I was out.

This is completely perverse to me.  How can anyone sustain a meaningful relationship after undertaking such “social activities” as a couple?   And why people get married, have kids and still do such things is really beyond me.

Recapturing tranquil moments lost in time

concocted on Wed, 26 Sep 2007 @ 1:15 pm for Eats,Introspections

For about two hours yesterday, we re-lived one of our precious old moments before we had a child.  Drinking Chinese tea.  Something we used to indulge in frequently when it was just the two of us.

Tea Chapter

It was our peaceful moment when we would get totally immersed with the appreciation of tea drinking in our own world, in the most tranquil state.

For five years that tranquility was lost. Because for five years we got immersed in another world of ours. A world that is very hard for me to describe in just one word.   Even if there is, tranquil is hardly the word to use here.

But I’m fine with not drinking tea this way during these five years. I’m fine with losing that tranquil state too.

Chinese tea appreciation

Because I accept that change is constant and I’ve come to terms that order doesn’t always rule.  And life can still go on fine as long as I have tranquility from within.

Bots = Brainless

concocted on Tue, 25 Sep 2007 @ 12:46 pm for Blogging

Last week I had to deal with a particular splog which was using a splogger bot to scrap every single one of my posts at Viva Woman.  It got to a point where I decided to get vindictive and wrote a post yesterday berating them openly.  And, as I planned it, that post was also scraped and published on their site too. In fact, it’s still there even as I’m writing this now. * I’ve since removed that post from VW.

splog

I guess we can now confirm that splogger bots are so totally brainless. 101%
