Yesterday I accompanied the man to see an eye specialist because his right eye was giving him some problems. His whole eye has turned bloody red, apparently because of a depletion of oxygen to the capillaries. On order from the doctor, he now has to stay off contact lenses and use his glasses instead.
After the consultation, we headed to Serangoon Gardens for dinner. I wanted to eat some Chinese noodles, while he wanted Indian food. So he accompanied me to eat my food first. While waiting for me, he placed his glasses on his forehead and watched me eat.
Then suddenly he blurted, “Hey, you really do look younger these days huh?”
I, who had my face almost buried in my food looked up immediately. ”Really ah? So how old do I look huh?” I probed excitedly, eyes brightened and face beaming with glee.
“Hmm…early thirties?” he replied.
“Really ah?” I was grinning from cheek to cheek, too pleased for words.
“Yup. Without my glasses on.”

I should have changed his red eye to a black eye on the spot!
heehee….first blog i read in weeks and it tickle me so much I couldn’t stop laughing….i really admire your man’s sense of humour although I am not sure if I was at the other end of his humour, how I would react!!!
btw, how’s his eye? I hope better.

ya, having a great sense of humour goes a long way. mine’s always making me laugh, but i’m scared of getting the laugh wrinkles =)

it could be funny initially. or it could be his sense of humor. but if it happens too often, it might actually be irritating or seem like putting you down.
how about telling him to tone it down because it does affect you sometimes?
(i could be completely off of course. it could also be the usual humor… betwn couples with a deep understanding. but to outsiders like me, it leaves a different impression.)
imp: Haha…not so bad lah. He’s a bit caustic and sometimes wicked but it’s not meant to put me down. My threshold for his nonsense is pretty high.
I share a little secret with you: We actually like to live our life like a comic strip, 朱德庸 style. In fact, we always pretend to bash each other up whenever we are in the elevator but as soon as the lift door is opened, we’ll lovingly put our arms around each other and look soooo in love.
