casserole of my life

Certain online shopping is addictive

Handmade jewelryI don’t do much online shopping.  Firstly, I am no shopaholic and  I can go without shopping for months.  And secondly, I really prefer instant gratification.

But these two weeks, I’ve been addicted to a particular website and spending my Sunday afternoons just ploughing through the various shops scouring for nice handmade stuff.

I’m talking about Etsy of course, great online marketplace for all handmade stuff.  You see, I just found out that many of the sellers run this Saturday Night Special and put their wares out for irresistible deals.

Actually, I  don’t need to buy handmade jewelries that much because I have two girlfriends who are good at these.  But the trouble with them is that they either do not want to accept my payment or charge me ridiculously low amounts which I feel rather embarrassed to accept.  Like recently I asked my best friend to make me some earrings and she came with them, but refused to accept a single cent from me.

So I have to sneakily buy these stuff online.  Ha.  (Read: this is an excuse!)

Good finds aside, one of the things I discovered about buying jewelry online is that, sometimes they don’t fit our expectations, especially size-wise.  Some of the items either come bigger than they look, or smaller.

But still, I’m happy with my loot and hey, it’s fun to receive the packages every week.

  1. They look good though (i mean your loot).. hmm.. now I want to go and see if I can find myself something..

I’m quite addicted to online shopping. Luckily I don’t live in the states.. or I’ll be in debt by now!

ZM: Haha…ya, I think the temptation is even more if we live in States.

  2. i am so conservative when it comes to online shopping - careful because i don’t want to spend unnecessarily and i am also impatient to see the purchase so i prefer to buy off the shelves.

etsy is really so nice but because there are a million things there, i always end up not buying anything!

but just a compliment to you…you are the reason for my first online make up purchase from erth minerals. i had them sent to my sister’s plc because i am here in China. she received them ages ago and i can’t wait to try them when i go home end of this month :)

Tracy: Hey, you make me happy to know that my posts have been somewhat inspiring in helping you spend money. Hahaha. I was like you too, quite conservative when it comes to online shopping. But it’s quite fun to receive the stuff in the mail and also I think having funds in paypal help because I don’t like to use credit card online that much especially not knowing if some sites are secure.

I hope the Erth Minerals will suit you too. Let me know how it works for you.
