casserole of my life

DIY Korean BBQ

Korean cutlery

Today, we finally had our eat-at-home Korean BBQ which the man has been talking for weeks.  He even went down to the shops just to get the metal cutleries two weeks before!

(I absolutely detest those hard-to-grip chopsticks!)

So today’s side dish story goes like this:

He managed to get some really cheap live prawns from the supermarket for the BBQ.  While having our dinner, I asked him if he would de-shell them for me because I was busy feeding Gavin at the same time.

After 5 mins, there was still no sign of any de-shelled prawns so I figured I just have to do it myself if I want to eat them.  And while I was de-shelling the prawns, he eyed them greedily.  Yet again!

Me: You refuse to de-shell the prawns for me and now you want me to feed you?!!!
He:  But I bought the prawns to feed you what!

Just goes to prove that my state of marriage with de-shell prawns isn’t going to improve anytime sooner.   I probably will have to de-shell my own prawns for the rest of my life!

*SIGH*

  2. I wished PB would try something like that with me..! but he is so BORING..!! when it comes to food..!! it’s like almost a chore.. to get him to eat.. and to get him to eat different food..!! wah lau..!! you can imagine.. “roll eye” ..!!
Well.. maybe if you have another baby.. the deshelling may come back.. muahahahhahaha!! just kidding..! ;)

MB: I guess for some, food is just functional so they don’t take too much interest in it. So PB maybe like that and not easily tempted in that sense. Have another baby for prawn sake? Hahaha…that’s a cute idea! I’ll remember to quote this next time when we eat prawns again.

  6. At least he cooks!!
Btw, doesn’t it make the house smells oily after the BBQ?

Those chopsticks are hard to grip(I can imagine using that for slippery noodles), but I heard they are the most hygienic chopsticks. I’m thinking of upgrading mine from wooden chopsticks to this too..

ZM: That’s interesting information, that this type of chopsticks is most hygenic. But very difficult to grip…also because I don’t hold chopsticks the right way.

Oh, and the house, yes it smells! So cannot do this too often.
