casserole of my life

After shopping beer & snack

Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant Vivocity

It took 1 pint of German beer at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant in Vivocity to make me all high and merry in broad daylight.  Was giggling so much and talking so loudly that the other patrons were staring at me.  Good thing I was still able to walk straight after that.   Otherwise I might have landed into the sea.

Boy, it’s such a long time I ever felt so tipsy.  It’s fun but I must remember to order the half pint next time especially if I want to go back home to my son in a sober state!

Yin & Yang

Candle holders

In our household, it’s the man who is into candle lighting and aromatherapy.  And I’m the one who is always saying NO MORE CANDLE HOLDERS PLEASE!

My son is a hedgehog

concocted on Mon, 16 Jul 2007 @ 7:20 pm for Parenting

The other day in class, when his teacher called his name, he corrected her.  No, don’t call me Gavin.  My name is Sonic!

Then when we were out shopping two days ago, this sales assistant who was serving us asked for his name.  His reply?  My name is Sonic!

And the best part is, he has decided to sign in his class register as Sonic as well.  He even wrote the name on his own enthusiastically.  Ha.  Talk about zealousness!

The boy idolises the Sonic and it’s actually quite funny seeing him go gaga over the character.  He’ll literally go weak in the knees, close his eyes and then bury his face in one of our tummies.

For those who don’t know, Sonic is really Sonic the Hedgehog, a fictional hedgehog character that serves as the mascot of the Japanese video game company Sega.   Yesh, a hedgehog.  My son is now a hedgehog! =_=

Friday The 13th

concocted on Fri, 13 Jul 2007 @ 11:57 pm for Eats, Family

It’s Friday 13th and yet I’ve had a few pleasant surprises. Goodies, good news and this.

Keyaki Japanese Restaurant at Pan Pacific

The man made a dinner reservation for the family at our favourite Keyaki Japanese Restaurant at Pan Pacific.  Because he was so earnest, I was happy to oblige even though it meant rushing from work to school with Gavin and then rushing home again to wash up and change for the evening out.

Keyaki Japanese Restaurant at Pan Pacific

This has to be the best Japanese restaurant around by our standard.

A Zen garden setting complete with a Koi pond, great ambience both in and out, good service all round and most important of all, great food!  The teppanyaki is a delight and almost a must have for us whenever we get a chance to come here.  And I was really glad Gavin enjoyed the food as much as we did.

It’s no wonder.  They served lime sherbert ice cream for dessert!
