casserole of my life

Finger licking goodness

concocted on Sat, 5 May 2007 @ 11:48 pm for Eats

I’ve got one of my fingers pricked while eating my seafood today.  And while I was eating, I wonder how other people eat their shell seafood.   Because I’m primitive.  I always use my hands.  In fact, if I can put my feet up on my chair, more so the better.

So tell me.  How do you eat your seafood at the restaurants?

  1. I donch usually like eating crabs in the public.. same for prawns. I love to eat my crabbies at home.. and watching chinese tv serials.. ;)

MB: Not even for prawns? Eating at home is nice but then sometimes more delicious to eat out…

  2. oh the food looks yummy! You always get to find the nicest place to dine in!

Erm, my hubby will always be the one shelling the prawns and crabs for me as I refused to touch those stuff in public unless they are shelled. :) i know. I am spoiled! :P

msff: Haha…think it’s the pictures and the composition. Not really nice places all the time. Wow, you’re so lucky! Your hubby must love you lots. To deshell prawns and crabs for you. Envy envy. Especially since I have a theory about deshelling prawns and marriage.

  3. Definitely with the hands. People who tell me they eat unshelled crab with a fork and a knife’s just blowing smoke up your you-know-where :P

    Tine: Ha…you’re funny!

  4. Anything goes as long as I can eat my food! But ha, no propping of legs on chairs. :P

DR: Hee…well, not in a resturant in Singapore. But probably ok if it’s somewhere near the beach.

  5. hehehe, i prefer to eat it with my hands especially with seafood served with shells on. that is the only way to enjoy it or you could ask your husband to deshell it for you. the lobster looks yummy! i always get poked too whenever i eat lobster but hey no pain, no glory..hehe

Belle: My husband has stopped deshelling for me since we got married though…so I have to rely on my two bare hands!

  6. i’m pretty used to utensils, so no problem with that. when eating lobsters, i definitely need a fork and a knife to pry the meat out.

but it’s definitely hands to dip mantou in chilli crab gravy!

i don’t eat alot of prawns or crabs…. so whatever little i eat, the man peels them for me! heeee… i didn’t force him to though!

imp: If they cook the whole lobster, it’ll be easier. But in this instance, they fried it and the meat stuck to the shelf. Impossible to eat with fork even tho I did try. And you’re another lucky gal with a loving partner!
