When they walked into the IT store, the woman could hardly suppressed her yawn. The bubble in her mind read: “Oh geez, hurry up will you?” And when the woman dragged the man into the cosmetics corner, it was his turn to look impatient with the words “Urgh, not again?” written all over his face.
The only time their eyes lit up simultaneously was when they walked into a restaurant together. Hand-in-hand this time. Oh, food! What glorious food! And how they effortlessly bound the couple in togetherness as always.
This is already the 2nd time in 2 weeks that we’re returning to feast at Yum Cha. The quality of the food here has improved tremendously, no more the unsavoury spread I had with Ashes and gang about 5 years back.
And both times, believe it or not, were initiated by the man. Well, for someone who’s really concerned about his weight on a daily basis, has been following a strict diet and is even worried about losing the momentum because of an upcoming trip, this is very much a surprise. When I teased him about the dessert of mango pudding he ordered for himself, this was what he said:
It’s okay. I can eat these because I exercise and I know how to lose these excess weight.
I immediately scowl at him.
Then what about me? How am I supposed to lose the weight from these stuffings when my butt is always on the chair all day long?
To which he just smiled and continued eating.
DANG! I’ve fallen into his food trap!

Woo-hoo! I’m the first to comment!! You guys are such foodies. Looks like you’re going to have to obssess like him otherwise he’s going to fatten you up!
Hsin: Yup, and as it is, I’m fattening up!

speaking of food traps, we have these every weekend. Then we walk the excess calories off along the beach. Food then nature. Food makes the dad and mum happy, and the beach is our girl’s favourite..
Jes: Oh, that’s nice…food then nature…btw, I didn’t see much on your MySpace the last time I visited. Surprised to learn you have a girl! (or did I miss that?) How old is she?

‘Food trap’, haha!
Hmm, have they really improved that much? I remember the food was horrible the last time I was there few years back. Maybe it’s time to give them a second chance…
DT: It was bad. But they have since improved and I’m quite surprised. Not bad really.

It’s the same with hubby and myself..
I yawn when he goes to those DIY shop, and he yawns when I go to a babyshop to shop for the kids.. and food at the end of the shopping is that we will both enjoy together!
But I don’t watch what I eat.. if he commented something, I’ll say, “I’m eating to produce milk!” That will shut him up!
ZM: Haha…milk is a good excuse!

just eat. just eat.
i’ve heard about this eatery, but never been there. since you’ve given it the thumbs up, i think i’ll give it a shot sometime this week.
imp: Let’s say the quality is fair for the price now. The food used to be very bad years ago when it just started.

oh…forgot to mention. i don’t shop with my man. hahahahah! unless we’re on vacation, or he’s buying me something or vice versa!!! even so, we carry walkie-talkies because we split up and wander into different shops that catch our different interests!! i like shopping alone!
imp: I try not too as far as possible. But sometimes he likes to tag along or he likes to ask me along when he shops…

MB: Haha…I won’t buy Osim. We have 2 of their items and after a few months won’t use it again. But I spotted this Nivea cellulite patch. Ha. Think can use that! Stick and then go eat. Hahaha…

Belle: You mean the dim sum? Yes, very delicious right? I can never get tired of them. Haha…and you overate during your vacation? Time to eat more fruits before your meal then.
