casserole of my life

Our topmost priority

concocted on Sun, 25 Mar 2007 @ 7:05 pm for Eats, Parenting, Places

I wonder if there are other families like ours…

Who also go fountain hunting almost every other weekend?

This week we headed towards Far East Square which has numerous water features to please him.

And a good selection of eateries and restaurants to whet our appetites.

But to suit the boy’s palate, we ended up ordering standard fare at Beng Hiang Restaurant in Amoy Street and gave their more popular dishes like fried prawn roll and oyster omelette a miss altogether.

Oh well.  Accomodating to his preferences is always our topmost priority.

For now at least.

  1. I so know what you’re talking about. Life on the weekends with Papa is all about the kids. What THEY want to do, what THEY would be interested in, what THEY would eat. *sigh* sometimes I miss pak tor days…

Hsin: Ya, the pak tor days are so free and easy. Go anywhere, anytime and eat anything! But at least now he’s bigger, he can eat by himself and I don’t have to rush through my food to feed him.

  3. Clayton loves fountains too… and yes, I will eat in places that accommodate him.. but DH will frown sometimes. I suppose this is the proof of our maternity instinct.

Doris: Clayton too? Seems that kids are all fascinated with flowing water. Well, I would rather eat at a place he likes or has food that he likes than risk going to one that has him whining endlessly.

  4. The food looks nutritious and good. Not like what we had last night - macdonalds. It sure wasn’t the food. It was the happy meal toy which we were going there for.

Btw, it was a pink polly pocket. And Shane still liked it.

carrie: We do that too!!! For the fries, for the toys. But you realised that going to McDees always makes them really happy the entire day? I mean that’s priceless…at least for me.

  5. Well, so long as the kids are happy, our lives will be easier too right? ;)

    Eileen: Yeah…

  6. Heh heh, this is the first time I can visual Gavin’s mommy looks… used to be only her feet, hands or neck… ;p

Machiam teenage girl mah… SS, you look quite different from the impression I have on you :p but the real person definately looks younger and pretty ;)

I guess this is what meant family life, couples will do thing that accomdate everybody in the family.

wtpg: Actually I did post my pix once or twice but rarely. You see, must choose nice blurry shots that show the face without lines, wrinkles, bags and freckles mah. Then better if under the shade cannot see those marks! HAHAHAHA…

Wait you see me in person then you’ll

  7. Looking at the bland dishes, I have this feeling that my hubs would rather train the little one to eat spicy stuff than to submit. Hahah.

DR: Haha…if your kid next time can take spicy, it’s okay. But just go easy on the li’ tummy…but then again, when paternal instincts kick in, you can never tell…

  8. Searching for water features sounds like a pleasant way to spend your free time. And if it involves some bland food along the way, so what? Perhaps that’s the price you pay for serenity. Such lovely photos.

    ally: Thanks ally!

  11. Ah.. that’s what we do too (not the fountain part).. every weekend.. we try to look for places where Zara can see some animals, real or statue it doesn’t matter to her.

Hope they’ll grow to appreciate our effort.

ZM: Probably will…at least some positive feelings about their childhood I think…
