casserole of my life

Price vs quality

concocted on Wed, 21 Mar 2007 @ 2:48 pm for Femilicious

I admit. I’m snobbish when it comes to certain things. I tag quality to price. If it’s cheap, I think it’s dubious. Of course I understand that there is a price to pay for branding and marketing. Take that away, the quality could really be the same…well for some things I guess.

Yet I’m pretty sure this cheap set of necklace and bracelet is going to disintegrate sooner than I hope. But hey, I’ve bought one bracelet costing $200+ from a branded goldsmith which disintegrated the very next day.  So price and brand aren’t necessary relative to quality all the time.  At least not THAT time.

Still, I’m willing to take a gamble that I can don this set a couple of times.  Even two is good.  I mean, face it.  At FIVE freaking bucks for the entire set, I cannot expect too much.  Anything more is TOO MUCH value for money.  Yeah?

msfairface: Yeah…I will only spend on real jewelries too…

  3. Are u into the colour green lately?

DR: Actually green has always been my fave colour. But I bought the pieces in green cos that design was only available in that colour.

  4. I actually prefer cheaper accessories, cos i’m very careless and i don’t really take good care of them..so if i loss them i won’t feel so heart pain lah… hehe :P

Eileen: That’s true…sometimes our kids pull at them too right???

  5. i hope u got some money back or replacement frm that “branded goldsmith”. how can next day disintegrate???!!

imp: Yeah…I was shocked. It was one of those with beads and pearls. I was happily wearing it until one of the pearls dropped off. Lucky my son picked it up for me. I went to the shop to get it replaced with another piece…no beads or pearls this time. And they were accomodating. But if I had lost that pearl, than “susa” lah!

  6. Didn’t noe you like green color, tot is purple. ;)

Ashes: When it comes to jewelries, more purple. But I do like green for my clothes and bags, and jewelries of course to go with them. Just that there aren’t that many nice green ones that I’ve seen.

  8. Hehe, am setting up another one. Will let you know once it’s ready. :)

Meantime, will catch up my reading of yours! ;)

DT: Okay, let me know. I usually don’t ask for passwords unless it’s given. Cos I feel that the person may want to have some privacy and I feel rude asking for it.
