casserole of my life

Mummy complained me

concocted on Wed, 14 Feb 2007 @ 5:07 pm for Parenting

My mummy is a bit upset.  Because I keep pretending to be sick when she says I must go to school.  And now I am really coughing and sneezing again.  Dr Koh said I got some ear and throat infection.  So I really no need to go school.  Yippee!  Still, my mummy is upset because I have been falling sick so often and haven’t been going to school for awhile already.  She is trying to teach me at home for the time being.  I think she calls it homeschooling?   But she complained to daddy that I’m not cooperative, especially when it comes to learning writing and makes her want to pull my her hair.  Aiyah, mummy…writing is very boring.  Can you just homeschool me about cars and trains instead. Like that, sure no hair lost.

  2. i think Gavin is building immunity. soon, he will outgrow it. my daughter S missed a lot of classes, too, when she was little. and since she is asthmatic, she was often hospitalized, staying 3, 4 days, to a week in the hospital. you can imagine how difficult it was for me as a working mom with a job that started in the wee hours of the morning.

Belle: I was told he will get better by about 7. I think it’s quite normal and I do wish he wasn’t missing so much school.

  3. have you checked out materials for home schooling? If you need any materials from US .. let me know… I’ll be going back to Asia in May.. so perhaps I can get some for u. :) I think home schooling really requires a lot of discipline frmo both parents and children…

Erika: Hey thanks for offering! This is just a temp arrangement. He should be going back to school by next month. I definitely have no discipline.

  6. Kekeke… I told my girls that too… On CNY day will have many goodies… must drink alots H2O then u wont fall sick, then u can eat the goodies… ” ;)

So same for u hor, Gavin ;)

Btw, this dont sound the first time Gavin has ear infection… what’s the causes? Does he lay down to drink often?

I can understand that pulling hair part… when I try to do some teaching with my girls, we experienced pulling hair too -_-

But true lor… Children are such active creature, want fun only. Mundane learning can really kill their interest to study. I think if we can cultivate them interest in learning instead, the teaching with be much more easier… but again, how to cultivate them interest in learning???

    sigh…

Aiyoh! Heck lar… Let them play to heart content… hopefully they will play learning. huh ;)

wtpg: He doesn’t lie down to drink. I think it could be a virsus which he’s quite prone to getting. As for the teaching, er, I also don’t know. For his age, his attention span is quite short and quite difficult to get him interested in writing. Others he still will follow.

  7. It took the rays about 1 year to build their immune system…..now they are hardly sick…..they probably miss school once in 2 months now….unlike the past, every month also sick….pengz

don’t worry so much Gavin’s academic area lar, he is so clever, eventually he will catch up with his peers one……

btw, happy lunar new year to you and all at home.

Jan: That’s good to hear. Hopefully he will build up his will be better sooner.
