casserole of my life

Eating has no ego

concocted on Sat, 27 Jan 2007 @ 7:40 pm for Eats

During my last corporate life, I spent most of my mornings eating the mushroom minced meat noodles here and most of my weekends eating the Bah Kuk Teh at the next stall.

Bah Kuk TehMinced Meat Noodles

My husband loves the Tiong Bee Bah Kuk Teh and I have to concede that their service is very good even though they’re rather popular, especially with the tycoons.  The Noi’s Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle stall, however,  always dish out their food with a certain sort of attitude.  It was so bad once that we decided to boycott them.

But as we learnt, it’s really hard to resist tasty food and in the end, we cast aside our ego and went back again last week.  With much delight I must add.

Both stalls are located within the corner coffeeshop at 588 Balestier Road (Jalan Datoh).

  3. ya lor.. when it comes to good food, ego holds no meaning. But if I am treated with disrespect hor, no matter how GREAT the food is, I will never ever return to the outlet. There are too many GREAT food out there.

JM: Yup, agree. If treated with disrespect then should boycott all the way. We got mini attitude problem from the stall, so gave only mini boycott.

  5. Used to be just ok. Always find it too pricey for that kind of environment and don’t think the rental is more expensive that the shopping mall at Orchard. Portion is small. What made me angry and total disappointed today, they gave very little BKT soup and when asked to refill, they gave other normal soup and said no refill with BKT soup. I can guarantee you will get much better service and food at Orchard 313 Food Republic. Traditional business should offer authentic food, value for money and excellent service. I wonder why this shop was promoted by media.
