casserole of my life

I’m okay, I’m not okay

concocted on Tue, 16 Jan 2007 @ 9:20 am for Parenting

Since his recovery from his recent illness, I’m totally BEWILDERED by his fine line between I’m okay, and I’m not okay.

He’ll look positively distress and say he’s NOT okay when:

  • he’s reminded that he has to go to school.
  • he’s asked to drink more water
  • he’s told to eat his usual meals.
  • he’s got to take his bath.
  • he’s requested to take his nap.

He’ll be bright-eyed and say he’s PERFECTLY okay when:

  • he wants to eat the fries.
  • he wants to eat the ice-cream.
  • he wants to eat the cake.
  • he wants to have his ride.
  • he wants to go swimming.

Well, I reckon his fine line is really between his obligations and wants?
