casserole of my life

Why I can’t shake off my fats

concocted on Tue, 19 Dec 2006 @ 7:49 am for Rambles

I usually don’t bother to check out workout equipment because I know I’ll never want to use them.  I bought one eons ago and after using it for a month, it was left to be used as a clothes hanger.

But yesterday I saw the Oto Flabelos and thought it looked kind of interesting.  So Gavin and I gave it a try and boy, it was FUN.  Just stand, press some buttons and JIGGLE away your fats.  Whoo…easy peasy…I like.  But one look at the price tag of $1480, I know I definitely can do with some jiggling on my own instead.

And seriously, there are more creative ways to lose inches off my waist than paying that ridiculous amount to get my body shaking.

Like some tips I got from this blog on fitness women such as parking further and walking more makes a lot of sense to me.  Especially since I usually forget where I park the car anyway.   And the tips on easy diet are also helpful, especially the one on never eat snacks right out of the bag, but buy snack foods in portion-controlled packages - and only eat one package at a time.  Ha.  If only I can eat them one at a time!

And this one I like best:

Infectious disease experts warn that from barbells to cardio machines, more gyms are hotbeds for the much-dreaded antibiotic-resistant staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA infection, as sweaty people share equipment, exercise mats and locker rooms.

More reasons for me to not go to the gym for workouts.  YAY!

  1. It’s true that the gym is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, considering the always damp conditions. Must always remember to wash hands with soap and always always cover the contact area with the towel provided!

DR: I never gave this a thought previously.  But it’s no problem for me now…cos I’m not going there.

  2. I started daily walks last summer to “shake off the fats.” I was good at first, but now that winter’s here, it’s cold outside and I don’t get to walk that often anymore. I also control my portions of snacks, doesn’t seem to work. I should probably stop buying them. :)

niceheart: I don’t have a lot of control either.

    but 1 key word- DISCIPLINE!!!!

imp: Oh THAT…I don’t have.

  4. So I should be glad I stopped going to the gym..

Boy.. now maybe I’ll have to go and check out the site you mention for fitness tips and slimming tips.. Need to shed the pregnancy fat all out.. and nope.. I won’t be willing to spend a whopping S$1500 for a machine either.

ZM: Can wait…until after you give birth.

  6. Heheh… I know of a way to shake off the fats too, same like flabelos, some more may include seat and is so much cheaper! A dollar plus to shake off your fats… interested?

Try taking an old model public bus… best is w/o air-con type. When the vehicle stop at the traffic light or so, get ready as the rotatory motor goes geng…geng…geng… virbrating the whole vehicle, then transmite to your body too! How you know your fats are being loosen? The aftemath is, you’ll feel the whole body very itchy, especially those fatty parts! Now u know y beat is non-aircon vehicle? Sauna can help loose fats mah :p

wtpg:  so funny lah you!
