casserole of my life

A case of petrol refill

concocted on Wed, 22 Nov 2006 @ 2:24 pm for Relationships

While I drive on an almost daily basis, there are some things I just refused to do with the car.  Washing is one, and the other is to refill petrol at the station.

I hate the process and consider it a chore.  The worst is I always forget which side the petrol filler is located and end up parking at the wrong stand every time, thereby embarrassing myself at the station.

Which is why I always leave it to my man to do the job.  If the car needs petrol, it’s his responsibility to take care of it even if I am the one driving.  So when I’m almost out of petrol, I’ll sound him up and he’ll get it refilled.

Last night I came back rather late after work and told him the petrol level was low and I needed to drive the car in the morning.  Since it was late and he was tired, he promised to do it first thing in the morning.

This morning I woke up at 6am to do some stuff before setting off to work at around 8.30am.  Just before I left, I suddenly remembered about the petrol and freaked out.

“Arrgh…you forgot again!”  I lashed out at him.

“Forgot what?” he asked nonchalantly.

I was fuming and too angry for words.

“Already refilled the tank lah.  I woke up at 5am to do it.”

Ah…how can I drive without him?

  6. Aww…. your hubby is so nice!! Even though my DH helps me to refill petrol, he only does it over the weekend when he drives. I believe he will never get up that early to do it even if my car runs out of petrol.

BTW, I love reading your Viva Woman! blog. It is so informative and some of the entries just made me want to go shopping and get the products that you reviewed. :P

CM: Hey, thanks for your comments about VW.  Glad you like it!

  7. That’s one cushy life you have going on there, my lady! We each take care of our own vehicles so I’m quite used to filling the tank.

ally: Cushy only when it comes to petrol refills…
