casserole of my life

Stolen moments

doulos

Hopped by Vivocity in the afternoon to run an errand and to get onboard Doulos, the world’s largest floating bookstore.  They had quite a selection of books but many were biblical in nature.  In the end, I just got books for Gavin.  And would you believe it?  They even had a handful of Chinese books for children.

All that time I was browsing at the bookstore, my poor man sat waiting below.  He had a bad case of sudden attack from his contact lenses and had to endure with a blurry vision because the optical shop refused to sell him a new pair.  To make him feel better, I gave him a treat at Haagan Dazs.

We sat at the open deck where the air was cool and dug into our ice creams.  Next door, the very upbeat No Hay Problema from The Sound of MilanoOfFashion was being played.  One of the ships near the harbour even sounded its horn.  Yet the combination was all very pleasant to the ears.

Like forbidden fruits which taste sweeter, stolen moments are always more pleasurable.

  1. What happened to his lenses? They popped out?

I love the last sentence. Everyday, every minute ought to be like a stolen moment.

DR: The lenses gave him a sharp pain and his eyes got all red and watery suddenly…

  4. Wow.. the ice cream looked yummy. There is only this one Doulos ship right? The one that docked at our port recently didn’t serve ice cream that looked that nice.

ZM: Haha…no lah.  We ate the ice cream at Hagan Dazs which was also at Vivocity.
