The boy had a whale of a time at Suntec City yesterday!
The mall set up this mini maze for the kids themed to Halloween and he was so happy running in and out of it. We, the adults had to take turns running with him and it was so tiring!
Apart from his fave cactus and fountain, he also got to see pumpkins. The real big ones! They were on sale at Carrefour and this was also the first time that I saw pumpkins of this size and of course I had to snap some pics. (Yup, I’m a country pumpkin. I know.)
Seriously, I wonder who would buy these huge pumpkins? Do people here eat these? Or do they really leave it at their doorsteps?
I read of a folklore about the Halloween tradition and it appears that pumpkins are left at doorsteps to ward of evil spirits and to welcome the souls of a departed loved one. Even though we don’t celebrate Halloween, it’s interesting to know that there’s a story behind which I can also explain to Gavin next time. If you like to know, go check out the fun facts at the Trivia Blog. They have information on the origin of Halloween plus other interesting stuff.
And no, we didn’t buy the pumpkins in case anyone is wondering. Not even the small ones.
Wish this was here…but take away that old man please!

Btw, ”Bushi no Ichibun” or “Love and Honor,” the movie directed by Yoji Yamada in which Takuya plays the blind samurai, debuted over the weekend at the 19th Tokyo International Film Festival. It was in fact, the first Japanese movie to appear in the “Opening Eve World Premiere” at TIFF.
So glad that his movie enjoyed a premier screening at such a prestigious event. Let’s hope Takuya receives rave reviews!
Help!
My three-year-old son picks at his nose very often and I found him eating his own booger lately! Worst! Today I saw him digging into his backside and smelling his finger afterwards!
Is my child normal? What should I do?
Yours sincerely,
Bonkers-to-be-Mummy
The curious cat when to download IE7 last night and found out to my horror of horrors, that all fonts on our blogs are being compromised. THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME! If I am correct, it’s Verdana. I checked out all the other blogs that I read and all of them share the same fonts as mine too! What the hell is Microsoft trying to promote? Communist spirit in blogging izzit???
Luckily for me, my blog template is intact and I think that annoying 3px error is gone under the new browser. Otherwise, they can expect more cussing from me…
