Read so far:
- A Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (good but long)
- Kafka On The Shore (love this quirky tale)
- Norwegian Wood (love this too)
- South Of The Border, West Of The Sun (too bland)
- Sputnik Sweetheart (not bad)
Supposedly reading The Elephant Vanishes, but have switched to Dance, Dance, Dance which is a more interesting read.
Looks like the marathon is on schedule. Yesh! 
murakami? is he the same person who designed the LV bags? there’s a range by a murakami person, not sure if its the one u mentioned n yr post? :p
Evan: This is Haruki Murakami, not the same as the one who designed the LV bags though I don’t know the full name of that Murakami.

Erika: Yeah, I love to read even more if I can afford the time. Erm, reviews? Unlikely lah unless it is something exceptional that I like to talk about. I only did the one on Kafka cos it was his first book I’ve read.

Chuckles… I was there and drooling over the offer. Didnt get any in the end because I still have 5 unread books. Now I’m wondering if I should stock up first!

I must be so ignorant. I have not heard of him before. I tend to go for non-fiction book, taking an interest in lives in China.

I haven’t read his book before. I guess it must be pretty good.. since you liked it.. so much..
I will try and get a copy and read..
MB: Actually books are subjective. It depends on individual preferences. I like his style of writing and his ability to capture certain feelings very aptly. Some of his stories are rather quirky cos of the metaphysics involved. Like some pple who loved most of his books but didn’t enjoy Kafka On The Shore. So it really depends. Btw, I bought his book in Singapore for about $20 each. Maybe you might want to try borrow one of his books first. I started out reading some of his books from the library too.

he’s my favorite author at the moment. reading Hard-boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World right now and it’s weirder than the other two books i’ve read by him. despite that murakami is addictive to read and more interesting than 95% of contemporary writers today… in any language!
