We’ve been fuelling Gavin’s craze over the movie CARS and Doraemon by buying up all sorts of merchandises related to the two. I even went round various department store one afternoon just hunting for McQueen, the lead character of CARS.
In fact, everytime we see something related to the two, both of us get SO excited. Toys, stickers, books, VCDs, games, watch, t-shirts, what have you. Looks like we the parents are the fanatics. Not Gavin. Apart from asking me to buy McQueen, he hasn’t pestered us to get him any of the other stuff. We got them on our own accord because we’re certain he’ll like them.
I know we’ve been over-indulgent but we really enjoy getting a kick out of seeing his happy face whenever he receives the items. The twinkle in his eyes and the joy on his face are priceless. Plus, we justify our act on the basis that we didn’t have to break the bank for those small purchases.
So Gavin has been keeping himself busy with cars and the robotic cat. One good thing that came out of this craze is that he has learnt to use the mouse quite well as a result of playing some related online games. He even picked up the word “cute” after watching some Doraemon movies. When asked if he was ugly, handsome or cute, he said: “I not ugly. Not handsome. I so cute.”
Hurhur. He doesn’t know that cute can also mean adorable but ugly.

Hee… I thought Doraemon is little known amongst kids these days. But yah, Xiaotingtang is very cute, espy when he whips out something magical from his front pocket. I love XTT! Used to stay at home to catch the cartoons, even when I’m obviously too old for that.
So does Gavin like to eat the bing bing that XTT eats?

I saw the Doraemon huge figurine in your photo and I thought you bought that for him!! That would be true indulgence!
I guess it’s ok we indulge in some of these purchases just to make them happy huh? Well, if they are not expensive, why not.
Btw, from the photo, Gavin seems to have slimmed down. His face is sharper.

Sometimes when i buy something for Damien, hubby would asked me: “Is this for him or for you?” Haha..when we brought Damien to the Hi5 concert and the Sesame Street Show, i think i’m more excited than him!
Damien very thick skinned one, he always say he’s a handsome boy..haha
