The thought of visiting a pub in the afternoon has never crossed my mind. For the simple reason that most pubs are only opened from the evenings. Well, at least here in Singapore.
Imagine my surprise yesterday to learn that my favourite Muddy Murphy’s is actually open all day long! Whoo hoo! So we dropped by after running some errands in town.
This used to be our favourite haunt until I got pregnant. It serves the best Kilkenny beer and great finger licking food like calamari rings and potato wedges in crab dip. We love the ambience and especially like to plonk ourselves on the grandfather rocking chairs.

YAY! Irish pubs are so great. I don’t have to wait till nightfall to get my beer and food! I’m gonna drop my afternoon tea sessions to come here instead!

Chup! I’m first! The squid and hot dog look really tempting to me.

Aaaaah.. Kilkenny is also my favourite beer! Haven’t tasted it for quite a while now.. I was pregnant with Zara and then breastfeeding, and now pregnant again.. so the whole duration, haven’t touched any alchohol.

And I always thought Kilkenny is the same everywhere, straight out from a can. I can never drink in the afternoons and then walk around with a red face. You must be one of those whose face doesn’t change colour after downing alcohol.

I would not mind trying Kilkenny beer. Something different … all beer tastes the same to me. Or maybe I have not tried enough variety.

I can’t take alcohol too, just a few sips and my face will be as red as a well-cooked lobster…
I once visited a pub with a few close girlfriends (one of the girl’s brithday) and i ended up crying and laughing at the same time after a cup of beer…it’s so….embarrassing…

I haven’t been to an Irish pub is sooooo long. You’ve inspired me to go to one very soon. I could use a good “plonking.”

Hehe. Yes, I’m the sort whose face remains unchanged after consuming drinks. Like Eileen, my mood can change drastically if I over consume. But usually, I become gay and extremely comical.
Loong: Kilkenny beer comes in a can that you can buy from the supermarkets. The one I had at MM’s is freshly brewed. Try it. I like the taste, it’s got character and not full of gas like other types.
Robin: Not much ciggie smell, surprisingly.
