casserole of my life

Cold Cheng Tng for the road

concocted on Tue, 30 May 2006 @ 8:08 am for Eats

Cheng Tng is one of my favourite desserts.  Especially if it’s rich with ingredients and comes chilled with ice!

This one from a famous stall at Bedok Camp hawker centre has to be the best!  Both of us used to order four bowls at one go, so that we can each have two. This picture doesn’t do much justice to the taste but believe me, it’s good! But at $2 a bowl, it’s not exactly cheap.

  5. Oh, I’ve tried the Bedok Camp one, very good. Used to be $1 per bowl.

Nowadays, I make cheng tng from the Prima Deli packs. Serves 15 - 18 bowls. Very good taste and can add more gingko nuts for better bite.

  10. Eileen: It’s also been awhile since I went there and didn’t realise they’ve renovated the place now. It’s much cleaner.

Jan: Yeah, but I’m just too lazy!

MB: Could be hard to get them over where you are…maybe just do with some ingredients.

ZM & DR: Hey, you bet! More more please!

MS: Was it $1? I thought so but I just couldn’t remember very well. Must go try those Prima Deli packs you mentioned.

Ashes: Oooh, you better take more of these and those cooling drinks. Remember what our friend Desmond used to do?

Fuzoo & Cavalock: Well, the price has gone up too much I feel…
