casserole of my life

Takuya Kimura in Hero sequel

concocted on Mon, 8 May 2006 @ 12:43 am for Entertainment

YIPEE!  My Takuya Kimura is having a new drama this year afterall.

It was announced on 28 April in Japan that Takuya will be starring in a sequel to his celebrated 2001 serial drama HERO. It is to be a one-off drama, probably 2 hours in length. Shooting will start towards the end of May with all the original cast, and will be broadcast in July.

Those who have watched Hero before should like the drama.  If you cannot remember, here’s a recap synopsis from Fuji TV.

“In this drama, Kohei Kuryu, played by Takuya Kimura, is a former juvenile delinquent that drops out of junior high and goes on to earn a high school equivalency diploma. After passing the law board exams, Kuryu becomes a prosecutor. Not your typical prosecutor, which is quickly seen through the clothes that he wears, Kuryu possesses quick instincts and a kind of cleverness that only someone raised on the streets could have.”

Since all the original cast will remain, that means Matsu Takako, whom I don’t really fancy, will be back too.  Oh well… It might also mean the 2-hour special will continue from where it stopped and explore a little about their relationship.  Hope it’s not the usual lovey dovey romantic drama though.

Whatever it is, I’m keenly waiting for this even though it’ll probably be August or September before I can get a copy here.  Hey, I’m really hard up for Takuya’s dramas because he only acts in one drama per year okay!  In fact, I had earlier presumed his drama was shelved for this year due to his filming commitments in Bushi no Ichibun.  So this is definitely an exciting news for me to look forward to!

SUGOII!

  8. I haven’t watched Hero yet. Yet to find the perfect one that has Chinese subtitles in the simplified form so I can tune to the Japanese language option.

  9. Jan: Yeah, very excited I am!

MS: Sounds like you haven’t watched Hero. Maybe catch that first. It was shown on TV. This one is only a 2-hour special, a continuation from the original series.

Loong: That hairstyle was from Hero. I like it too. In fact, I like about any hairstyle on him lah…

ZM: I usually watch on VCD. I don’t dare to download from BitTorrent site cos fearful of VIRUS! I is KIASI!

Eileen: Not too bad lah…cos I still get to see him on and off on SMAPXSMAP from pple who upload to YouTube.

DR: You haven’t? I don’t understand what you mean by perfect version. The one I saw has Chinese subtitles with Japanese dialogues.

  10. Heehee… because the ones I see here come with Chinese subtitles but the traditional ones which I can’t comprehend. That’s why I’m still looking for the perfect copy. ;)
