casserole of my life

The little girl layer

concocted on Sat, 22 Apr 2006 @ 8:55 am for Femilicious

Look what I found yesterday at the Kinokuniya bookstore.  A little Hayao Miyazaki stationery corner!  A collection of notepads, pens, pencils, folders and postcards from some of his popular anime.  Specifically Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service and my favourite - My Neighbour Totoro.

I was gushing over the collection like a little schoolgirl.  So excited that I found so many pretty things on Totoro.  I gingerly picked up every item to examine while deciding if I should take any of them home.  After hovering at the corner for a long while, I finally decided to buy the notebooks and some folders although I wasn’t quite sure what I would use them for.  I imagine I will probably keep them safely somewhere instead of actually using them at all.

Haha, I guess at the end of the day, no matter how old I really am, I still have the little girl layer stuck somewhere inside me.

  3. I love Studio Ghibli productions as well! Have you seen the music video “On Your Mark”? They tailor-made that for a single by Chage & Aska. You should watch it … good song and good animation.

  5. Those are so cute! I really like the pink one! Btw, do you collect letter papers and envelopes when you were young?

  6. Erika, I’ve always loved stationeries and yes, have collected the pretty letter pads/papers and envelopes. I have a soft spot for notepads especially. Got plenty of them at home with just some words on the first page.

Loong, I haven’t seen that one for Chage & Aska. I used to like listening to that duo for a while. Must try to source for that animation you mentioned.

  9. Haha.. it’s true.. I have a weakness for such things too.. Everytime buy those cute little notebooks, or pens and then can’t bring myself to use them (they are so cute mah).. in the end.. just let the pages turn yellow and the ink goes dry.. :(
