casserole of my life

Takuya Kimura plays samurai

concocted on Sun, 19 Mar 2006 @ 3:34 pm for Entertainment

Since shooting Bushi no Ichibun, Takuya Kimura has reportedly lost six kilos.  Oh man, I hope he doesn’t appear as one gaunt looking samurai in the movie.

For those who don’t know, Takuya is playing the lead role as a low-rank samurai who loses his eyesight and his wife’s fidelity and later avenges to protect his pride.  The movie, directed by Yamada Yoji, is slated for release next year.  In an article in the recent TV guide, the director has this to say about Takuya.

“Kimura-kun’s talent is far beyond what I imagined. He absorbs my directions immediately and also makes suggestions of his own, giving me new viewpoints. This shoot has turned out to be full of happy surprises. He is also a swordsman of considerable skill, and the duel towards the end of the story should be very exciting.”

I’m sure of that.  This is one handsome talented versatile artiste who never fails to impress me.  Those who have the opportunity to watch SMAPxSMAP will know what I’m talking about.  In fact, you can even catch Takuya doing a Brokeback Mountain thingie with Inagaki Goro eons ago in You Tube here.  Heehee…

Takuya Kimura

To be honest, I am not keen on Takuya playing samurai roles.  Which is why I never wrote anything about this movie until now.  I have seen him as one in Chushingura 1/47 and it just didn’t sit well with me.  Maybe it’s his contemporary looks.  I’m not exactly sure.  I still prefer him in modern roles.  But having said that, I’m certain to catch this movie on the big screen.  By hook or by crook.  Heh, I’m afterall a diehard fan.

Speaking of which, I recently had the dubious honour of having one of my previous TK entries linked by a half-baked dimwit who thinks she’s a SMAP expert and mistress of the SMAP fandom.  Since she didn’t like what I’ve written, I don’t understand why she bothered to read and even linked it up.  But I’m not going to return the favour.   If you’re that irritating bugger with a brain smaller than the mosquito’s lungs reading this, I suggest you go back to that entry you’ve linked and see the message I have for you.  *SNORT*

  6. KY: Wow, you make my day. Thanks! It’s my new hobby.

DR: Haha…I think Goro looked more tensed.

    Loong: One word - GORGEOUS!

Diva: Very modern samurai maybe. I haven’t seen pix of this movie. Hope he looks credible enough.

Zara’s Mama: For sure I will! But got to wait till early next year.
