I love hor fun and I will ensure I sample this dish at restaurants which serves local delights. So in a sense, I am close to a hor fun *ahem* connoisseur.
So where’s the best hor fun served?
My vote goes to the sauteed hor fun with prawn and scramble egg served at Crystal Jade Kitchen! Oh, it has such a wondrous fragrant and the taste is absolutely divine! Look at the prawns! I tell you, they’re really fresh and crunchy! Yummmmmmy!!!!

Even though I only work part-time, weekends are still very much cherished and reserved for family time. It is really a time for Gavin to be out with us and have some fun. That is why Zu and myself always try to keep ourselves free from travelling or work commitments during the weekends. In fact, I recently turned down an invite to run workshops during the weekend for a club. I figured out that the compensation just wasn’t good enough for the time taken away from my family. For a matter of fact, no amount will ever be good enough.
Went X’mas tree shopping again this morning. This time at Tangs…but still couldn’t buy our tree. There was one we liked but there is no more stock. So looks like we have to look elsewhere again. I’m now wondering where is a good place to buy nice and cheap fake X’mas trees in Singapore…Anyway, we also need to get rid of our 4×2x2 feet fishtank before we can fit in a tree.

I am on a purple gold acquisition rampage!
Last week I bought a white gold bracelet with a piece of pseudo purple gold from Tianpo and today, I bought this real solid purple gold pendant from Lee Hwa Jewellery.
Well, purple gold DO exist and is actually a unique gold alloy composed of 80% pure gold and 20% of other metal components. In fact, at 19k, it is of a slightly higher value than the 18k white gold and even has a trade-in value.
So was I then duped at Tianpo last week? Well, not exactly. Although they’ve said it’s somewhat like purple gold, they’ve explained and stated in the invoice that it is a purple powder coating on white gold. The price was also certainly not reflective of the real purple gold.
Whatever it is, the most important is that I am happy wearing both pieces, pseudo or real.
