Glorious! I now have my very domain to house my blog! So I no longer have to worry about my blog disappearing on me one day. Unless of course I choose to terminate it.
This move is really timely because my blog is now riding on the latest nifty Wordpress 2.0 platform. It’s got some very cool new features and is much much more user friendly. The best part: it caters for imports from other blog sites. Which is great because it took the biggest headache out of my blog migration. But for the dear life of me, I still haven’t figured out how to import the comments, despite crystal clear instructions from Ange of Earth Ember. Hopefully, IT will come to me soon.
I’ve even managed to tweak the Landzilla template and customised it with my own header too. But there are some compatibility issues. My old blog worked flawlessly on IE but not on Firefox. Ironically, my new blog is working very well on Firefox, but not on IE. Some images do not show up properly. Hopefully, I can figure this out IN TIME.
Something interesting also happened today blog-wise. One of my brothers, who is 48 years old this year, just set up his own blog! My brother has his own website about fishing and I encouraged him to set up a blog. So today he called me and invited me to view a blog he set up for his wife, and also asked me for my blog address. I was really hesitant because I feel kind of weird having my own sibling read my thoughts. In fact, I don’t even share my blog with my closest friends. In the end, I didn’t give him the address although I might change my mind. ONE day.
For now. My very own domain. A new blog design. What a great way to start 2006.
Happy 2006 to all!
It was between King Kong and Chronicles of Nabei Narnia. With the limited time I have, one had to go and King Kong it was. Even though it was Peter Jackson’s, I just couldn’t tolerate the idea of watching a King Kong prancing around for a good 2 hours or so. Actually what is King Kong monkeying around with a woman? I think he must be damn tee ko.
So how was Narnia?
A HUGE LET DOWN! It is such a promising story but the show was trying to do TOO much and at some points it got really incoherent. Like the Santa Claus appearing out of nowhere. There was little magic to be felt and the battle scenes, which reminded me of the Lord of the Rings, were just lacking in grandeur. Nothing magical. Nothing fascinating. Definitely wasted my time.
Should have gone to watch the tee ko King Kong instead. At least, it could have made SOME impact with its size.
Felt really acccomplished yesterday. Caught up with Alyson and Wei Kiang for lunch and then met San for a very late tea. Traded gossips, exchanged X’mas presents and received compliments on my radiant face! I’ve even completed my X’mas shopping and managed to squeeze some time to mark a few papers! Early X’mas joy! UBER HAPPY!
I don’t know why many of the Christmas CDs out there sound really TRAGIC. Isn’t X’mas a season of joy? So thank goodness there are jazzy Christmas CDs like Diana Krall’s.
Gavin has been listening to this CD for a week now and has learnt how to sing Jingle Bells. He’ll gladly sing it for me when I ask. But well, erm…it’s not quite complete because his song goes like this:
Jingle Bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to lah…
Lah…one open leg, HEY!
He knows it’s funny and that’s why he enjoys singing it because it makes me laugh!
