I have a weakness for bracelets. Everytime I walk past a jewellery shop, I can’t help checking out their latest chichi designed bracelets. Perhaps it has to do with my mum who insisted that I wear those auntie looking 916 gold bracelets she used to buy for me. Luckily for me, the weakness is in so far the object is concerned but not the choice of design.
These days, mixed gems are in vogue and I finally caught up with the fashion when I bought this dainty mixed gem and pearl bracelet from Tianpo two weeks ago. It was very pretty but I realised it was a very bad purchase decision because two of the gems dropped off less than one week into wear.
So today, I went down to the store and chose another design in exchange. It took me a good 45 minutes to find this purple gold & white gold bracelet. The sales lady told me that there is really no purple gold. It is just purple powder coating on white gold. Aha…But I know at least one other jewellery shop which is charging ridiculously exhorbitant prices for them.
Since it is powder coated, I have to be extra careful and to remove it before I bathe. Well, a bit troublesome really. But I supposed it’s a small trouble in exchange for a piece of purple gold.
