I feel like an ugly duckling that has morphed into a beautiful swan now. The pigmented spot on my face is lightening up by the days and I am so happy!!! The doctor told me the pigments are gone and I will have to wait for another month or two before the spot becomes COMPLETELY INVISIBLE. Whoo-hoo! I am uber elated!
:D
I’ve lived with this bloody spot for years and finally I can get rid of it permanently. Once and for all! All thanks to the wondrous effect of laser treatment. Never mind the inconvenience of being damn freaking ugly for a week. It’s worth it! And seriously, compared to the skincare products and facials I’ve invested in, this is money well spent.
There are a few smaller spots which I want to get rid of but not now because I need to have time to hibernate after the treatment. So today I opt to do the photo rejuvenation or IPL. That has no downtime, and it will help to stimulate my skin collagen and reduce fine wrinkles. Plus help to lighten up my smaller pigmented spots too! Haha..do this once a month and I won’t even need facials. And the results are superb! Yesh, I can snub facials now!
So who says fairy tales cannot come true huh? Now Soon, I can really put my best face forward liao…
Well, I’m having the misfortune of having to work with someone totally inane yet again this year. Damn hard luck I say but I have no choice. How I wish I can treat this person as spam mail and delete her from my space. But that’s realistically not possible so I just have to grit my teeth and get move along.
Considering our last encounter, it could be awkward to come face-to-face again so soon. So last week when I knew that I had to work with her again, and to be at a meeting with her yesterday, I ran through some possible scenarios in my mind:
- Treat her as a piece of transparent glass.
- Talk to her but look at the table.
- Talk to her but look at my notes.
- Talk to her but look at my nails.
- Talk to her but look at others.
- Talk to her but look over her head.
- Talk to her and look at her chest.
In the end, I opt for this: fake it. Just masquerade my smirks as smiles. Pretend to look agreeable by nodding head at times and establishing just the right amount of eye contact. I won’t say I enjoy playing that plastic role. But sometimes in the name of professionalism, being an occasional hypocrite is just what I have to do.
Gavin’s first haircut by a professional. All along, his hair has been cut by his paternal granny but we decided it’s about time he got a decent cut at a salon. So we brought him to Kitz Kid’s Salon at Parkway Parade today. He was not very obliging initially but after some coaxing with toys, candies and stickers, he was less fussy. The hairstylist was very skilful and in a matter of 5 mins, his hair was done.
I am quite happy with the outcome… although I’m not too sure about him.

Soup of the day: shark fin soup, courtesy of Zu.

Frying part of the soup’s ingredients: bamboo shoots and abalone mushrooms.

Zu likes to experiment with his culinary dishes. So today, he decided to use canned ingredients as opposed to the fresh ones he’s used to making the soup with. Of course, the soup didn’t turn out as satisfactory as the usual. The chief reason being that there was just a soupcon of shark fins, even though he used three cans! But in spite of that, it was still fairly tasty with the crunchy bamboo shoots and abalone mushrooms.
Well, I know this is some delicate hot soup, considering the amount of controversy over the cruelty done to sharks because they’re left to die slowly after having their fins lopped off. But I really can’t ignite any compassion within my small heart for sharks. No. When I think of sharks, I just think of Jaws. Yeah, blame it on Steven Spielberg.
So, I really won’t cannot stop having shark fin soup and my justifications are:
1. I only have this soup occasionally.
2. Half the time, I am eating pseudo-shark fins (like today).
2. If I am eating the real shark fins, they must be from some vicious sharks.
My tastebuds cannot survive without multiple candies in a day. Yet, the owner of those tastebuds is frightfully afraid of losing her teeth. So thank goodness for sugarfree candies! *Halleluiah*
I’ve been eating these Les Bonbons Klein hard candies for years because it’s sugarfree and it taste good. But the true blue reason why I’m such a die-hard fan is because…
it comes in blueberry flavour!
Well, actually the green apple flavour is also veggy nice.
