Gavin had quite a lot of company yesterday. In the morning, he had fun at my mum’s place impressing his third uncle and auntie whom he rarely sees except during special festivals. The boys next door, Brendon and Brian, also invited him to join their water play. Then his godma came by in the evening to entertain him. And to top it off, we brought him to Ponggol Park where he saw other kids carrying lanterns and playing with sparklers. Boy, that place was lighted with candles everywhere, even in the pond. Really happening.
So it was quite a busy but satisfying day, especially meal-wise. Zu cooked pepper crabs and shark’s fin soup for us! It was the first time he cooked Sri Lankan crabs bought from Tekka market. We had expected to spend a bomb but it turned out cheaper than what we usually buy at the supermarket. $38 for two whopping giant crabs! And he did a good job of killing, cleaning, washing, cooking and serving us the crabs. By us, I really mean godma and me only. Zu didn’t even eat the crabs eventually because he had no appetite after cooking. But we let him finished up the shark’s fin soup while we happily ate the crabs. Godma was very impressed with both dishes and actually said that they were of restaurant standard. Though he didn’t showed it, I am sure he was swelling within. No pictures this time but there’s always the next time. Anyway, I’m likely to get my free camera so will be able to post more pictures soon! Yippee… :D
So you see, my menopausal mood is gone after eating the crabs. And last night I really had a nightmare about one of my assignments. Shit! I better get my arse moving… and better create a to-do list and STICK WITH IT!
