casserole of my life

I love Bee Gees

concocted on Sat, 20 Aug 2005 @ 11:30 am for Entertainment

When I first read the news awhile ago, I thought, “OMG! The Bee Gees are coming to town? Must go watch them!” But it soon dawned on me that it’s impossible since there are only two members left now. True enough, it’s only Robin Gibb who’s performing here.

I would love to have a chance to watch Bee Gees live in performance! They’re my fave group and I’ve idolised them since pre-teen. I remember those days listening to their songs with my brothers in the living room. Sometimes, we would dim the lights and dance to their music. More than a woman…more than a woman to me…staying alive…staying alive…ah, ah, ah, ah, staying alive… Ah, so nostalgic. I even chose Saturday Night Fever for a fashion show I choreographed during my secondary school days to showcase the ’70s fashion. I can so vividly recall one of my classmates wearing my mum’s pink gown catwalking to this tune. Hey, we really rocked the school with our fashion number then. So cool nei.

It’s still so groovy listening to Bee Gees even now. In fact, I’ve asked Zu to download all their songs in my mp3 player although it hasn’t been done.

I have very fond memories of the Gibb brothers as a trio, and I had also liked their younger brother Andy Gibb, particularly his duet with Olivia Newton-John. But I don’t think I’ll go watch Robin’s concert. It’s just not the same, if you know what I mean.

The trio maybe gone, but their songs live on…
