casserole of my life

Celeb spotting & bitching session

concocted on Tue, 16 Aug 2005 @ 11:17 am for Rambles

Met San for lunch today at Holland Village and spotted Li Nan Xing filming outside Provence Bakery with some other Mediacorp artistes. We had a good view of him as we sat on the opposite street slurping up the famous Katong laksa. I’m not a big fan of him but I must concede that he’s still quite handsome despite his age. In fact, I wouldn’t mind taking a picture of him if we had a camera with us just now.

Anyway, since I’ve mentioned Provence, I must rave about their wasants. These are milk flavoured bread marbled with castard or chocolate layers and they are simply, TO DIE FOR! I’m just putting one castard wasant in my mouth as I’m blogging now. Mmmmm…so marble-licious!

After lunch, we headed towards our hangout, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leafs for our therapeutic bitching session. Today, we griped about troublesome and meddlesome people in our lives, in particular, about our MILs. Through our exchanges, I discovered that our MILs, while very different in character and personality, have one thing in common. Both are trying to assert their dominance over how we should run our households, in their different ways. So I deduce that the MIL mentality is really universal. Unfortunately.

I kind of regretted raising the subject of MIL, because this is a very time consuming topic and expectantly, we both had lots of grouses to offload. So today’s bitching session is pretty one-dimensional and we were left with no time on other topics of interest. Oh well… we can always organise another session. In fact, San just sms-ed me that the time was too short for gossiping and we need to arrange another session with Godma. Soon.
